Gold’s Gym’s Family Fest is truly the type of event that any community can be proud of. The Festival is a continuation of free events and activities produced as a joint venture by The City of Altamonte Springs, private businesses, service organizations and government agencies. In these di-cult economic times, public/private partnerships are a necessity to a ord the public access to free community events that strengthen both family and community ties.
Formally titled Kids Fest, the event features activities and entertainment for everyone in the family, prompting the name change this year. The event is co-produced by the City’s Events Management Division and ASPD’s COP’S or Community Oriented Police Services, the same parties also responsible for the Halloween at Cranes Roost and Coppers-N-Choppers events.
Many youth organizations choose this event to showcase the talents of their dance and gymnastic teams
along with some of the top youth vocalists in the area. The free entertainment features three local bands including the headliners “Wildlife with Jungle Brass”, a nine member “family inspired” band from Orlando. The band’s commitment to spending time together is how the band got it start and is the perfect connection to the theme of the event.
The event is a full day of fun free family activities in beautiful Cranes Roost Park at Uptown Altamonte where everyone can take part in interactive activities, visit local businesses with displays on helpful tips, trends and tools for a healthy life or get involved with one of Gold’s Gym’s tness tip sessions, classes or demonstrations. For those who would prefer a little less active afternoon, grab a bite to eat from one of the many food vendors, sit back and enjoy the live entertainment all day from the main stage of the Eddie Rose Amphitheater.
We can’t think of a better way to spend a Saturday than with family, friends and neighbors in beautiful Cranes Roost Park.
